Gold Sovereigns
Victoria was the Queen of Great Britain between 1837 and 1901 and the Empress of India from 1876 to 1901. She was the only child of George III’s fourth son. In 1840, she married Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and had four sons and five daughters. Her husband died in 1861, after which she entered a long period of seclusion and neglected her duties. However, she regained popularity when she became Empress of India. She was succeeded by her son, Edward VII.
